PRB wins and smasches record !
Artemis Trophy for V Riou and S Josse.
One of the most classic offshore race, the Rolex Fastnet is a 608 miles of intense racing through some very changeable weather…Start from Iles of Wight (Cowes), round Fasnet off Ireland, and finish in Plymouth south coast of Cornwall, this is the course of this mythical race, used for the Imoca class as a prologue of the Barcelona World Race (starting November 11th)
Vincent Riou, and his co skipper Sebastien Josse won this race (in Imoca class) with a record time of 50h…. ahead of 14 other yachts. All of them aim for 2007 at either the Transat Jacques Vabre, or the Barcelona World Race, and ultimately will all be gathered for the Vendee Globe in 2008.
« This Fasnet Race was ran in strong wind conditions, very fast ! All boats are fast and speeds differences are very small” sys PRB’s skipper. Their high knowledge of their boat allowed Vincent and Sebastien to logically win.Following a convincing win in the “Calais Round Britain” last May, PRB is definitely a firm favourite fot the Barcelona World Race.
« Cheminee Poujoulat » finishes an excellent 2nd place, with Delta Dore in fourth, these 2 yachts just like PRB will carry a full Incidences inventory in November.
